Before...               After...

● A 1920’s home with painted cabinets that were inconvenient and a layout that lent little to the home esthetically.

● Though this is a small kitchen, using custom-built Heirloom Woodworks™ hickory cabinets allowed for full use of the wall. Placing the stove on the longest wall made for a better floor-plan. A hidden trash can keeps the room clutter free and large drawer’s gives better storage.

● The cabinets near the top are all seeded glass doors, adding to the interest of the old home and allowing for display of cherished items.

● Surrounding the refrigerator with cabinets not only give it a built in look, it allowed the homeowner to purchase a more economical full depth refrigerator. It also permits use of a full height pantry that is storage and beauty. Seeded glass doors at the top give view to wine storage and stemware.

● The Island, though small, is a great work area, has deep drawer storage for large cooking items and also allows for two stools. The design on the legs is a replica of the woodwork on the stairway banister in the home.

● The HD laminate countertop is a good economical choice that still lends to a natural stone look.

● Retaining the original wood floor preserves the look and feel of the older home. The cabinets were designed so that the old floor was as visible as possible, but that the damaged areas were disguised.
